Carmen Madrigal-Bracy graduated in 1971. She attended Cal State Long Beach and recently graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. She is currently attending the Latina Leadership Academy, co-sponsored by the USC Marshall School of Business.
Carmen has worked for a state agency in Los Angeles for the last 20 years and loves her job in the city. She is married, has three children and one beautiful granddaughter. Her husband recently retired after 30 years in the military. She is very proud to be a military wife. Robert served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner and in Iraq as a staff sergeant as part of an aviation crew.
She has a tender spot for donating time to programs for children and adults with disabilities, her son Jeremiah, who is now 39 years old, was born with a brain injury and provides more challenges and other types of adventure in her life. Jeremiah lives at home and attends WAPADH in Whittier. Her daughter Natalie is a teacher and a Mommy. Her youngest child, Alexandria, is on her way to becoming a Veterinarian and is now considering joining the U.S. Air Force.
Carmen has served on the Pioneer Alumni Board for more than 9 years and has watched the Association go through many growth spurts. Her hope is that others will take a step up and become a member of the Association and help to create a larger presence at Pioneer High. There have been many challenges for this organization, but the rewards definitely out weight them.
